willkommen.jpgWelcome to Siebold-Gymnasium, dear exchange partners.
We are looking forward to your staying here. To make you feel at home, we would like to give you an idea of the program we have arranged.
On the day of your arrival, there will be a big band concert at our school. And we will celebrate 4th July together. We will also discover the beautiful surroundings on Sunday when riding on the historical “Mainschleifenbahn” and enjoying typical delicious Franconian food afterwards. Monday’s focus is on Würzburg’s most famous sights, such as the world heritage site “Residenz”, where we will also visit an exhibition on American influence in post-war Germany. In the afternoon a boat trip to Veitshöchheim will give you the chance to relax and appreciate the picturesque “Main” valley.
On Tuesday you will get an detail insight into the production of German beer at “Hofbräu Würzburg”, whereas in the afternoon we have been invited to the police headquarters for a guided tour.
Wednesday is spent visiting “Merkers” mine and “Point Alpha”, former American border post between GDR and FRG.
On Thursday Mr. Mais will lead you to the castle and afterwards, if you feel like it, you can visit “Kulturspeicher”, center of modern art.
Nuremberg, which played an important role in German history, is the next point on the agenda. Being a city of extremely varied shopping facilities, you will be happy to enjoy an afternoon off.
At the weekend your host families will arrange for a pleasant time.
The world heritage site of Bamberg with its historically intact center will be toured on Monday.
